Many of us have to be immediately grabbed by a song! The first few notes and chords either spell doom or delight! I like to give a song at least 30 seconds. By that time I should have a good idea of what the "artist" is trying to convey to me the "listener." I then ask myself, "how unique is the arrangement," "does this sound like a band I know?"
